Noida International Airport Tests Its First Flight On 9 Dec 2024
After 23 years, the wait ends. Noida International Airport has reached an important milestone with its first flight test. This is a key step before the airport opens in April 2025. The test was done with an IndiGo aircraft, with a full crew and experts from the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The flight included takeoff and landing on the new runway.
These tests are crucial to ensure the airport meets all safety and operational standards set by India's aviation authorities. The airport must pass these tests to get an official license to operate.
The flight tests will continue until December 15. The airport's runway, 3.9 km long, is already ready, and the terminal building is nearly finished. This new airport will help reduce crowding at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and improve travel in the region.
The Noida International Airport is expected to create many jobs, boost the local economy, and bring more tourists. It will play a big role in connecting India to the world and help the country’s aviation industry grow.
