NMRC Seeks EOI for Commercial Development Near Okhla Metro

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced that it is seeking Expression of interest (EOI) from companies for the commercial development of three plots near the Okhla Bird Sanctuary metro station. These plots cover a total area of 44,151 square meters and are close to popular locations like Supertech's Supernova and Amity University. NMRC operates the Aqua Line, 29.7 kilometers from Sector 51 to Depot Station in Greater Noida. Since it started in January 2019, daily ridership has increased significantly, jumping from 18,000 to 55,000 passengers in 2024.

In its announcement, NMRC highlighted the importance of developing these properties sustainably and using creative revenue strategies. The organization uses an open bidding process to select a suitable developer or partner to help with this project through a public-private partnership model. NMRC is particularly interested in experienced firms specialising in commercial real estate, including project management, financing, marketing, and leasing.

The plots are intended for commercial use according to the Noida Master Plan and Building Byelaws from 2010. Developers will be given a lease for up to 60 years and encouraged to design buildings that can last for at least 100 years.
