The construction of the Chilla Elevated Road connecting Delhi and Noida has officially begun. Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M performed Bhumi Pujan for the 5.6-kilometer elevated road, which will link Chilla in Delhi to the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida. The purpose of this project is to reduce traffic congestion on the Delhi-Noida Link Road, especially during peak hours.
The project, which had been delayed for four years due to funding and logistical issues, has now been awarded to MG Construction by the Uttar Pradesh Bridge Corporation Limited (UPSBCL). The construction is expected to be completed within three years.
The elevated road will ease traffic between Noida Sector 14A and Mahamaya Flyover, benefiting commuters heading towards Greater Noida, Sector 37, Kalindi Kunj, and Faridabad. It will reduce travel time and improve access to Sector 16. The road will directly benefit around 10 lakh people daily.
Once complete, this project will ease the frequent traffic jams, especially during peak hours, and make commuting more efficient for thousands of people traveling between Noida, Delhi, and Greater Noida.
The project had been approved by the Delhi government in 2018, and its foundation stone was laid by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in January 2019. However, the project had only been 13% completed until now.
