What units of measurement are used in India?

Acre is a prominent measurement unit in countries where British imperial power had ruled. It is also used in the US customary system. It is also used to measure large land parcels for real estate, agricultural land, or anything that involves a big land parcel.
Bigha is a term frequently used to describe land measurements in Punjab, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Bigha has no standard value like Hectare and Acre, and it can vary in different states.
For example: In Bihar, 1 Bigha contains 0.625 acres, whereas in Haryana, it is 0.25 acres.
Katha is commonly used in the eastern states of India. It is a unit of land measurement, but its size can vary depending on the area. For example, in West Bengal, one Katha equals 720 square feet, while in Bihar, it equals 1,361.25 square feet.
Square meter is used to measure small land parcels like those for building an apartment or independent house, or any land which is small in size. It is an extremely prominent measurement unit in many countries.
Square foot is used to measure the carpet area of homes or shops which are very low in size. It is a renowned measurement method used in real estate.
Ground is a popular measurement unit used in southern India, especially in Tamil Nadu. One ground equals 2,400 square feet.

What is the formula for calculating land area?
There is no fix formula to calculate Land Area.
To calculate land area in India, first, you need to be aware of the standard measurement unit of your respective region. For example, I am from Bihar, where Kattha is more popular than Acre.
So, if I have 1 Kattha in Bihar, which is equal to 1,361.25 sq ft, it means that if I have 5 Kattha of land and want to convert it into sq ft, I just have to multiply it by 1,361.25. You can use the same technique with all the data and measurement units. But always remember to get the exact value for your respective state because units value's vary in India.
